Madeleine Klouda is a composer and clarinetist from Oslo, Norway. She started to play clarinet at the age of 8, moved to USA at the age of 18 to study and finished her Bachelor in Clarinet Performance in 2014. Always having a great passion for composition and arranging, Madeleine started to study composition in 2011 at the Crane School of Music, studying with Dr. Gregory Wanamaker and NYU Film Scoring Alumni Professor John-Paul Brabant. While studying at the Crane School of Music, Madeleine wrote concert music, focusing on small ensembles. in 2013 she had the opportunity to participate in a masterclass with composer Libby Larson.

In 2014 Madeleine was accepted to the Masters program in Film Scoring at NYU Steinhardt, studying with great composers like Irwin Fisch, Mark Suozzo and Michael Patterson. She was the winner of the NYU Film Scoring Competition 2016, and enjoys writing for anything from animations to documentaries and concert music. Madeleine was accepted to the Society of Composers&Lyricists Mentorship Program in the Spring 2016 where she wrote music with the guidance from well-known composers such as Chris Hajian and Mark Roos. 

in addition to writing music, madeleine has been working as a music pedagoge instructing in clarinet, music production and elementary music. in 2018 she moved to south africa, working for field band foundation with a focus on music, health and teaching skills. currently madeleine is working as a music teacher and conductor for school bands in oslo, norway.
